Construction site manager

Sometimes known as building manager or construction manager, this job is all about running a building site, making sure that projects are completed safely, on time and within budget.

Construction site managers liaise with architects, planners, engineers and surveyors. Work includes overseeing the delivery of materials so construction is done on schedule, making sure the project complies with building regulations, reporting to the client and installing temporary offices for site staff.

    A degree is not needed, but can help towards a career in construction management. Relevant courses include building studies, building engineering, construction engineering management and building technology
