Flat Refurbishment

I am in the process of buying a one-bedroom flat to refurbish then rent out and eventually sell on. At the moment it has a dark corridor in the centre of the flat that gets no natural light so I would like to open this out so it becomes open plan. This could change the rooms around so the now bedroom and corridor would become the living area and the current living area would become the bedroom. The only slight reservation I have is that this will mean the bathroom will be straight off the living area, on opposite walls to the kitchen. My question is first is this OK to do with regard to building regs and secondly is this a no-no and will it effect selling the property? The living area is big enough to put a corridor in or I was thinking of a glass block screen to shield the bathroom door. any advise would be much appreciated.
